Mountlake Terrace Library hosts Poet Laureate Elizabeth Austen Saturday in second annual celebration of National Poetry Month

The public is invited to join Washington’s Poet Laureate Elizabeth Austen for a afternoon of live music and poetry at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 18, at the Mountlake Terarce Library.

Austen will be reading selections of new and unpublished poems in the second annual celebration of National Poetry Month at the library. Jazz musician John Burgess will perform throughout the afternoon. Enjoy refreshments provided by the Essential Baking Co. & Starbucks and hear work by local poets Peter Breysse, Lydia Dews, Ann Hursey, Sandra Tomlinson, and Cadence Ellen Whittle. Christina Montilla will emcee.

All are welcome and everyone is encouraged to sign up for the open mic. Share a poem of your own or one by your favorite poet.

The Mountlake Terrace Library is located at 23300 58th Ave W, Mountlake Terrace.
