Target Corporation announced this week it is donating $5 million to U.S. schools, and all the schools in Mountlake Terrace are looking to get a slice of that charitable-giving pie.
The Give With Target campaign is an effort by the Minneapolis-based company to donate $25,000 in grants to 100 in-need schools selected by the company. Target will also donate up to $10,000 to schools selected by the public in an online vote.
After just three days, Mountlake Terrace High School had accumulated enough votes to be promised $275 from Target. You can vote for MTHS, or any school included in the campaign, here.
Last year another Mountlake Terrace school benefitted from a corporation’s online charitable giving initiative. Cedar Way Elementary School received a $50,000 grant from Pepsi in January 2011, and used the funds to install new playground equipment at the school last summer.
The Give With Target charitable giving promotion continues through Sept. 8.
