The fall production of the Mountlake Terrace High School Drama Department honors veterans with the Shirley Lauro play “A Piece of My Heart,” with performances scheduled for Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 15-17, 7 p.m. in the MTHS Theater. Admission is $5, with active duty service members and veterans admitted free.
MTHS students in the production are senior Jocelyn Leggett, senior Alana Erkan, senior Elbethel Abebe, junior Hailey Martin, sophomore Emily Davidson and sophomore Danielle Hirano playing the leads, with senior Jacob Pratt, junior Calvin Martin, junior Evan Roberts, junior Myles Stillwaugh and sophomore Matt Sythadone in supporting roles.
“A Piece of My Heart” focuses on the true stories of six women who are sent to Vietnam and struggle to make sense of the war there.
The play includes mature subject matter; although all are welcome to the performances, the MTHS Drama Department suggests it has a PG-13 rating.
