The City of Mountlake Terrace is hosting a workshop called “City Planning: What’s It All About?” on Monday, May 10, from 7:30-8:30 in the Interim Council Chambers, 6100 219th Street SW, Suite 220. This special training will be provided at no cost to the Planning Commission, City Council, and anyone else interested.
A fun and inspiring “big picture” session, the workshop covers information on why and how city planning happens. It includes examples of historical and current plans that have been prepared to guide future development and preservation.
The agenda includes presentations from special guests. Bill Trimm–City of Mill Creek Planning Director will cover a short history and examples of city planning. Jill Sterrett–Principal of Sterrett Consulting Company will speak on sustainability trends in city planning. Rocky Piro–Growth Management Program Manager for Puget Sound Regional Council will discuss how city planning fits with regional planning.
A Questions & Answers session will follow each presentation.
