Mountlake Terrace High’s Caiola wins fan vote in Terrace Idol competition

Mountlake Terrace High School’s Maddy Caiola won the fan vote in Wednesday night’s final round of the annual Terrace Idol competition, held at Mountlake Terrace High School. Caiola performed “After Tonight.”  The judge’s vote was won by Edmonds-Woodway High School’s Caitlin Yanos, who performed an original song “Now or Never.”

Judges were Ariana Deboo, a 2010 Terrace graduate who won Terrace Idol in 2008, Justin Correa, a 2009 Terrace graduate who was active in the school’s music programs, and Seattle-based jazz and pop singer Michael “Wanz” Wansley, best known for singing the hook in “Thrift Shop” by fellow Seattle natives Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

Other singers who performed in Round 3 were Auryanna Ashoori from Lynnwood High School and Alisha Clingan and Dominic DeMiero from Mountlake Terrace High School.

All proceeds from the event were donated to the MTHS Senior Class of 2014 for their senior graduation party.
