Clubs & Activities: Over the course of my high school career I have been involved in TSA (Technology Student Association), ASB ( Associated Student Body), Key Club, Link Crew, Honor Society, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Leadership.
ASB: I have been a part of ASB every year, beginning as Freshmen Vice-President and now serving as my school’s Interhigh President (the student leadership group between all the schools in the Edmonds school district).
Awards: I was fortunate enough to have received the CTE Pre-Engineering Leadership award my Junior year as well an award recognizing outstanding math skills from AAUW (American Association of University Women).
Community Service: I serve as an occasional tutor at my school for students who are struggling. I also volunteer at Terrace Park Elementary and work with 2nd grade students.
Significant School Project: Currently in my STEM english class I am completing an individual research project on the effects of activating genes in mutated muscles cells to eliminate the mutation and inhibit it’s spreading.
Future Educational Goals: I am currently interested in majoring in biomedical engineering. I hope to go to either Johns Hopkins, Stanford, Boston University, University of Washington, or another university with a strong program. I also hope to have the opportunity to achieve a Ph.D.
Future Career Goals: After achieving my Ph.D., I would like the opportunity to lead my own research team. I’m highly interested in medicine and the development of different treatments as well as personalized medicine.
