The final Mountlake Terrace High School Sports Booster Club (SBC) Athlete Highlights poster of the 2014-15 school year is now up at participating businesses and organizations around town and features two members of the MTHS Hawks spring golf teams. Senior Drew Williams and freshman Savannah Kaczorowski were chosen to be highlighted on the June poster.

Williams received high praise from Terrace boys golf coach Tom Gorney for his effort both on and off the links. “Drew is an outstanding young man and student athlete,” Gorney said. “He is a senior whose GPA is 3.2. He will be a four-year letterman on the golf team.”

“Drew is a quiet leader but goes out of his way to help the younger players be successful,” Gorney continued. “He is willing to provide rides for the underclassmen to practice and home. He is a good role model and the younger players learn the etiquette of the game from watching him. I will be sorry to see him leave.”

MTHS girls golf coach Mike Gugich pointed to the overall effort of Kaczorowski, one of five freshmen on the 2015 Hawk squad, for her selection to the SBC June Athlete Highlights poster. “This year I choose to highlight Savannah; she is a talented freshman on our team,” he said. “She is our top scorer and is the only freshman ranked in the top 10 for (Wesco) 3A South match points.”
