Mountlake Terrace Fire Station to observe Sept. 11 anniversary with moment of silence

The public is invited to join firefighters in Snohomish County Fire District 1 as they remember those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.

On-duty firefighters at the Mountlake Terrace Fire Station 19, at 5902 232nd St. S.W., will gather at the flag pole at 6:55 a.m. and observe a minute of silence at 6:58 a.m. Dispatchers will broadcast a memorial tone and announcement at 6:59 a.m., the time of the collapse of the World Trade Center’s south tower, to conclude the brief ceremony. The remembrance will honor the 343 firefighters and paramedics killed in the line of duty at the World Trade Center attacks.

Note that ceremonies may be delayed or canceled if in-service firefighters are responding to emergency calls.
