Twenty-one students at Mountlake Terrace Elementary received new bikes from Snohomish County.
The students submitted letters about why they deserved to have a new bike and the principal drew names of those that were to receive the donated bikes.
Snohomish County Road Maintenance staff had a professional development team building activity where they put together 21 bikes and donated them to students through Holly House.
Students surprised staff and read their compelling letters to teams who helped fit them for bikes and helmets. The students were so excited, one mom said it was as if the holidays had come early.
