The Mountlake Terrace City Council has scheduled a special meeting at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 11 to consider the adoption of a Resolution approving a separation agreement between the City and City Manager Arlene Fisher.
The issue along with the consideration of the appointment of an interim City Manager will be discussed during an Executive Session.
Councilmember Seaun Richards said, “In consideration for Ms. Fisher’s privacy and the state law, it would just not be appropriate for me to comment on this employment matter at this time. I anticipate the City of Mountlake Terrace and Ms. Fisher will be issuing a joint press release in the near future and I am simply not able to comment further.”
Fisher took over as City Manager in March 2014. Fisher had been serving as the City Administrator for the City of Cheney prior to taking the Mountlake Terrace position. She had previously been with the City of Liberty Lake for six years, and earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Eastern Washington University.
Fisher was selected by council members to fill the vacancy created at Mountlake Terrace City Hall when former City Manager John Caulfield accepted the top administrative post at Lakewood (Pierce County). She was picked over more than 50 other applicants for the position.
The meeting will be at the Mountlake Terrace Interim City Hall, 6100 219th St. SW., Suite 220, second floor.
