Mountlake Terrace City Council to hear from Commander Hansen about FBI Academy at Tuesday’s meeting

City-of-MLT-logoThe Mountlake Terrace City Council is scheduled to hear Tuesday a presentation from Mountlake Terrace Police Commander Doug Hansen about his recent experience at the FBI National Academy.

Hansen was invited through a nomination process to attend the FBI National Academy. The Academy is held at the FBI Academy, which is located on the U.S. Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Virginia. Hansen completed the course, Oct. 4 through Dec. 19.

Courses provided are accredited through the University of Virginia and center around leadership, legal issues, behavioral science, forensic science, law enforcement communication, fitness/health and the networking between police managers worldwide.

The Council also is scheduled to consider a revised salary schedule for the Public Works Department. Under this reorganization, Engineering Services Director Chad Schulhauser will become the Public Works Director, overseeing both maintenance and engineering. Public Works Supervisor Fabian Hackett will become Public Works Operations Manager overseeing day-to-day maintenance programs and a City Engineer will be hired to oversee day-to-day engineering.

The Council also is scheduled to vote on an Interlocal agreement with Cross Valley Water to provide vehicle maintenance services. The City has had an agreement with the City of Shoreline for these services.

The meeting is at 7 p.m. and is held at the Interim City Hall Council Chambers, located at 6100 219th St. SW., Suite 220, Mountlake Terrace.
