The cities of Mountlake Terrace and Brier both negotiated a discount for the bills they received from Snohomish County Fire District 1 regarding retroactive pay raises for the District’s union employees for 2013 and 2014.
Mountlake Terrace received a discount of $43,308 from an original bill of $661,323. The City paid the District $107,000 in December 2014 and the remaining balance of $511,014 will be paid over the next two years with the final payment due Dec. 31, 2016.
Brier received a discount of almost $11,000 from the original bill of $256,240. The City paid $245,325 in December 2014.
The retroactive payments were for represented employee pay raises accruing from 2013 and 2014. Both cities contract with Snohomish County Fire District 1 for fire services.
