Starting this Friday, Aug. 31, MLTnews is hosting live video broadcasts of Hawks football games that can be heard or seen by anyone with an Internet connection. The Hawks Live Sports Network, presented by MS Helping Hands, will launch with live video coverage of Mountlake Terrace High School games, starting at 7 p.m. at Stanwood High School.
Both home and away games will be webcast through www.mltnews.com/hawk-live-sports-network. Not only are the games covered live, but they are also archived for later listening.
Handling the play-by-play for the Hawks is Steve Willits, a Mountlake Terrace graduate who assisted with game operations for the Seattle SuperSonics and Storm, and now works with the Everett-based Washington Stealth lacrosse team. Mountlake Terrace High School broadcasting and journalism students will work directly with their respective teachers – Angelo Comeaux and Vince DeMiero – to gain in-game technical, research and reporting experience.
The pre-game shows will be broadcast approximately 10 minutes prior to the game and will include interviews with coaches and a look at the upcoming game matchups. The half-time show will feature interviews with special guests.
MLTnews donates a portion of all sponsorships to the Mountlake Terrace Sports Booster Club to fund student athletic programs. Sponsors in addition to MS Helping Hands include Harris Ford Lincoln, Edmonds Sports Academy, Action Jackson Plumbing, Revelations Yogurt, Waldron Chiropractic and Wesco Athletics.
