The Mountlake Terrace Business Association is raising money to purchase backpacks and school supplies for students in need at Mountlake Terrace and Cedar Way elementary schools.
This is the fifth year the Mountlake Terrace Business Association has been involved with purchasing school supplies for local students. “In the past four years the ‘Backpacks for Little Hawks’ program has been a big success thanks to support from the members of our local business community,” said MLTBA President Ayesha Sheikh.
One backpack full of supplies will be purchased by the MLTBA for each $15.10 raised.
Mountlake Terrace Elementary School Principal Doug Johnson expressed thanks to the MLTBA for their continuing efforts in this annual fundraiser. “I cannot tell you how many families feel huge relief when we welcome them to our school and offer these backpacks to our children in need,” he said. “It is an important support to these families. And when we tell them this gift is from local Mountlake Terrace businesses, they feel even more support, and believe a feeling of being at home.”
“Personally, it makes me feel at home as well,” Johnson added.
All contributions by check for the Backpacks for Little Hawks fundraiser should be made payable to the Mountlake Terrace Business Association and mailed to:
