“It was a big success and speaks volumes about our community spirit,” said Danil Semenov of the MLTBA. “Among other contributors we had City Manager John Caulfield, Mountlake Terrace Police Department, and many local residents who made donations to this program. We also want to thank Creekside Church for providing space to temporarily store and then put together the backpacks and supplies.”

The backpacks went to Mountlake Terrace Elementary and Terrace Park elementary schools. Mountlake Terrace Elementary principal Doug Johnson described the program as “a wonderful support for kids whose families are in difficult financial situations,” Semenov said.

  1. Did the other MLT elementary school….Cedar Way Elementary benefit from these backpacks also? I hope so.
