MLT youth have the giving spirit

As part of the City’s community service curriculum, Mountlake Terrace Youth Programs adopted two families through Deaconess Children?s Services this
holiday season. This was the 6th year that the youth classes have adopted families during the holiday season.

Ages of each family member and their wish lists were handed out to the children enrolled in the before and after school programs, preschool/kindergarten readiness classes, and the child care program. In addition to the families the children adopted, the Mountlake Terrace Recreation Pavilion also adopted 2 families this holiday season. Names were placed on a “tree of giving” in the lobby and the general public was invited to take a tag and provide a gift for one of the family members.

All gifts will be delivered to Deaconess Children’s Services and they send along their heartfelt thanks to the generosity of the people that live, work and play in the Mountlake Terrace Community. Recreation Programmer Darlene Cook, Recreation Coordinator Lori Johnson, and Clerk Barbara Reynoldson, were the project coordinators for this year’s Holiday Gift Giving Project.
