Work has begun on the northwest corner of 234th Street Southwest and 55th Avenue West in preparation for construction on the site of six attached townhomes and a mixed-use building of 650 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor and one residential unit above.
A house originally built in 1951 on the .26-acre site has been removed and crews are now clearing the property of brush and debris.
The 234th Street Townhomes project was originally approved in 2008. Construction permits were issued for the project on Friday, Feb. 1, signaling that work on the site is preparing to step up.
The site was purchased in October, 2012, for $360,000 with the specific purpose to build the townhomes and the building.
Great to see another project break ground.
