The Mountlake Terrace Senior Center is offering the first of what they hope will be a hot draw for seniors around the community: Hot Topics @ the Firehouse.
Seniors are invited to join firefighters at Mountlake Terrace Fire Station 19, 5902-232nd St. S.W., on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 10:30 a.m. to noon for some coffee and conversation. The topic for the discussion will be Deck the Halls — Safely. “Firefighters will answer your questions and share tips about what you can do to ensure a fire-safe holiday season,” said Mike Cooper, Executive Director of the Mountlake Terrace Senior Center.
The seniors group plans on holding more Hot Topics @ the Firehouse sessions every three months. “Each of these quarterly gatherings will have a theme that seniors and firefighters can discuss,” Cooper explained.
For more information, or to sign up for the Nov. 21 session, call the Mountlake Terrace Senior Center at 425-672-2407.
