MLT Senior Center preparing for move — and could use some help

It’s a big week for the Mountlake Terrace Senior Center as the group is making its big move to its new location at Ballinger Park — and they could use some help to accomplish it.

The seniors’ group is moving from its former home at 5605-235th Street SW in Mountlake Terrace to what was formerly the Ballinger Lake Clubhouse, 23000 Lakeview Drive. The group needs to be out of the old building soon in order to avoid paying another month’s rent on the facility, said Mike Cooper, Executive Director of the Mountlake Terrace Senior Center.

The group has been having some upgrades completed on their home at Ballinger Lake Park and is now ready for final preparations. “We need painters on Thursday, Dec. 26 and Friday, Dec. 27, at the new building starting at 10 a.m.,” Cooper noted.

While painting is being done at the Ballinger Park building, packing will take place at the old facility; the seniors are seeking volunteers to help pack boxes there on Thursday and Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m.

On Monday, Dec. 30, the group is looking for more volunteers to load moving trucks at the former site, and for help in unloading at the Ballinger location. “Looking ahead, we need volunteers at both locations for a variety of tasks on Jan. 2 and 3,” Cooper added.

Anyone interested in volunteering on any of these dates is advised to call 425-672-2407 to sign up. You can find more information on the Mountlake Terrace Senior Center here.
