City of Mountlake Terrace Police Chief Greg Wilson recognized retired patrol officer Rome Esmeralda during the April 16 City Council meeting.
Esmeralda moved to Mountlake Terrace and served as a patrol Officer from 1999 to 2012. He started his career in 1977 as a Military Police Officer for the Hawaii National Guard. Esmeralda served as a Deputy Sheriff for the State of Hawaii from 1982 to 1987 and with Honolulu Police Department from 1989 to 1998.
“Rome is always optimistic and upbeat, no matter what is going on you can rely on him to pick you up,” said Chief Wilson. “Thank you for your dedication to service, professionalism, optimism and compassion for the job over the years.”
At the recognition ceremony, the City Council, Patrol Officer Esmeralda’s wife, several members of the police department and other city staff offered congratulations.
