MLT police recover stolen vehicle, arrest female suspect

Mountlake Terrace police officers apprehended a 29-year-old Woodinville woman on possession of stolen vehicle charges earlier this week after they observed her acting suspiciously outside the Studio 6 Hotel at 6017 244th St. S.W.

On Monday night, police found an unoccupied stolen vehicle, reportedly taken in a Mukilteo burglary. The vehicle was parked at the hotel, and a female subject seen near the vehicle immediately entered a room upon seeing police. As officers inventoried the car so it could be returned to its owner, a note was found that was possibly left by the suspects. On a hunch that the female might be involved, officers checked the identity of the occupants of the hotel room, and discovered that the names on the note matched those in the room, linking them to the vehicle.

When officers attempted to contact the female subject, she did not answer the door, so a search warrant was requested. While waiting for the warrant, officers kept watch on the room. The woman left the room and after a very brief foot pursuit, police took her into custody. After further investigation, she was booked on possession of stolen vehicle charges.
