Keeping the kids busy during the long winter break can sometimes be a challenge. The Mountlake Terrace Recreation and Parks Department has camp options that can help fill that idle time.
The Recreation Pavilion offers single day camps on many of the weekdays between December 23 and January 3 for kindergarteners through sixth graders. Daily activities include games, crafts and swimming in the Pavilion pool, and can begin as early as 6:30 a.m. if needed.
Cost for the winter break day camps is $30 per day for Mountlake Terrace residents, $33 per day for non-residents. Pre-registration is required; to sign up, or for more information call 425-776-1973.
On Dec. 30 and 31 the city’s recreation department, in conjunction with Mountlake Terrace High School, presents a Boys & Girls Winter Basketball Camp for youth ages 7-15. The two-day camp, led by the coaching staffs of the MTHS boys and girls basketball programs, runs 10:30 a.m. — 1:30 p.m. each day.
Cost for the basketball camp (which includes a T-shirt and water bottle) is $55 per day for Mountlake Terrace residents, $60 for non-residents. Registration, completed emergency card and fee payment must be turned into Recreation Pavilion staff by Friday, Dec. 20.
For more information about the winter basketball camp, contact MTHS girls basketball coach Zach Wilde at zwild32@ gmail.com or 425-359-2620.
