Works by Mountlake Terrace artist Kim Caldwell, along with her painting partner and mom Ginni Guest, are being featured this month at the Gallery North, 401 Main St., in Edmonds.
Caldwell, a Mountlake Terrace resident since 1990, has been painting for 27 years. “I paint to take the view on a journey to where I have been, sharing the experience of the location,” she said. “Painting is my passion; sharing it is my joy.”
While looking for someone to join her in the artist studio, Caldwell asked her mother Ginni to take lessons 15 years ago; that, and feelings of joy, wonder and peace when seeing flowers, trees and nature, began Guest’s journey into art.
“I want my paintings to bring those same feelings to the people and maybe bring a little peace into their busy lives,” Guest said.
The Kim and Ginni Show will be on display at Gallery North through the month of December. The daughter-and-mother artists will also be attending a gallery reception during the Edmonds Third Thursday Art Walk on Thursday, Dec. 19 from 5-8 p.m. While Edmonds has been home of Gallery North for 50 years, the gallery recently moved into its new location in the heart of downtown.
