MLT man arrested in Edmonds yard waste bin

This comes from our friends at My Edmonds News:

It took an hour and a half of searching, but Edmonds police responding to a report of a burglary in downtown Edmonds Wednesday morning were able to locate the suspect  in an unusual hiding spot: a yard waste recycle bin three blocks from the scene.

According to Edmonds police Sgt. Don Anderson, police responded at 10:16 a.m. to a report of a residential burglary that had just occurred in the 900 block of Pine Street.  “The calling party was the homeowner who had confronted the suspect inside his house and became involved in a physical altercation with the suspect before he fled on foot,” Anderson said.

Edmonds police officers and a police K-9 unit began a search that lasted approximately an hour and a half, finally locating the suspect in the yard waste bin.  The suspect, identified as a 26-year-old convicted felon from Mountlake Terrace, was positively identified by the homeowner and will be booked at the Snohomish County Jail on burglary charges, Anderson added.
