Are you looking for a new type of exercise that helps build both health and confidence? The Mountlake Terrace Library — yes, the library — may be able to help.
The library is hosting an introductory class of Aikido, a form of Japanese martial arts, on Saturday, Jan. 12, 1-2:30 p.m. Aikido teaches physical fitness, flexibility, relaxation and balance for the body, with elements of philosophy and religious belief for the mind. The introduction class, taught by Randy Thompson of the Mountlake Terrace Recreation and Parks Department, will include some history of Aikido and teach some beginning moves of the martial art.
The free class is designed for tweens, teens, adults and families.
The Mountlake Terrace Library is located at 23300-58th Ave. W.
