All three of Mountlake Terrace’s large grocery stores — Roger’s Marketplace, Albertsons and QFC — start selling hard liquor and spirits on Friday, June 1. But only one is planning to begin sales at midnight, when state law allows it, while the other two will wait until 6 a.m.
Albertsons, 4301-212th St. S.W., will start selling liquor at midnight, but only for two hours. State law requires all liquor sales to halt between the hours of 2 and 6 a.m. Albertsons will resume liquor sales at 6 a.m.
QFC, 22805-44th Ave. W., has chosen to wait until 6 a.m. to begin its hard liquor and spirits sales.
Roger’s Marketplace, 23120-56th Ave. S.W., closes at 10 p.m. on Thursday, so midnight sales are not an issue. Roger’s will begin selling liquor when the store opens at 6 a.m. Friday
Mountlake Terrace Liquor & Wine, 22402-44th Ave. W., is the only other outlet in the city that sells hard liquor and spirits. They report no changes to their hours of operation on Friday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
