Mountlake Terrace is in 36th place in a ranking of Washington state cities with the least expensive auto insurance, according to a study by ValuePenguin.com.

The consumer website analyzed the annual auto insurance premiums in 54 state cities, sampling quotes for a hypothetical 30-year-old single male driver of a Toyota Camry who logged 10,000 to 15,000 miles annually. Walla Walla was determined to be the city with the least expensive insurance at $569; the most expensive premium came from Lakewood at $907.

The annual premium for a Mountlake Terrace driver was $778.

The 13 most expensive cities in the study were all in Pierce County and Seattle to south King County. Eastern Washington cities made up seven of the eight least expensive cities for auto insurance.

ValuePenguin.com received quotes from five insurance companies in their study: GEICO, State Farm, MetLife, California Casualty and Allstate. You can see the complete 54-city list here.
