MLT City Council to hold public hearings on budget, transportation starting Nov. 5

The Mountlake Terrace City Council will considered several key issues during the month of November, including the adoption of a 2013-14 proposed budget. All of the meetings will be at the Interim City Hall Council Chambers, 6100 219th St. S.W., Suite 220 at 7 p.m.

On Nov. 5, the council will hold public hearings on the 2013-2014 Proposed Biennial Budget and the 2013 Property Tax Ordinance.

During a work/study session Thursday, Nov. 15, the council will review the proposed 2013-2018 Transportation Improvement Plan Ordinance (TIP), which includes core projects such as pavement preservation, sidewalks and sidewalk ramp construction, traffic signal equipment upgrades, bicycle route development, and traffic calming along with street and signal construction projects in the current TIP.

On Monday, Nov. 19, the council will consider adoption of the 2013-2014 Proposed Biennial Budget and the 2013 Property Tax Ordinance. A public hearing and possible adoption of the proposed TIP ordinance is also on the agenda for Nov. 19.

The proposed 2013-2014 Biennial Budget maintains services for residents at current levels and does not include layoffs or reductions in services. You can find more information on the public hearings online.
