The Mountlake Terrace City Council has scheduled a special meeting for Wednesday, Jan. 8, to meet with some of the area’s state legislators and discuss city priorities for the upcoming legislative session. Council members are expected to urge local legislators to continue their push for state money to be allocated for infrastructure improvements to the Mountlake Terrace Town Center District, and for various other funding concerns of local interest.
District 1 Representatives Derek Stanford and Luis Moscoso could play pivotal roles in seeing if Mountlake Terrace can be on the receiving end of state funds; Stanford is vice chair of the Capital Budget Committee, while Moscoso serves as Vice Chair of the Transportation Committee.
The 63rd Washington State Legislature is scheduled to convene on Monday, Jan. 13, for a 60-day regular session in Olympia.
