The Mountlake Terrace City Council has awarded a contract for the 222nd Street SW Water Main and Sidewalk Improvements project to Pacific Coast General LLC for $804,533.
The 222nd Street SW Water Main and Sidewalk Improvements project will provide curbs and sidewalks along the north side of 222nd Street Southwest between 44th Avenue West to 39th Avenue West. The project also includes constructing drainage improvements, 1,600 feet of water main, 10 gate valves, three hydrants, and 27 new water services.
These improvements will create a safe pedestrian connection between 44th Avenue West to 39th Avenue West and the city’s principal sidewalk networks, provide access to nearby public transportation routes, promote walking as exercise, provide safe access to the neighborhood park and to increase accessibility for disabled citizens, the city said.
Construction is set to begin in September.
