The Mountlake Terrace City Council at its June 18 meeting made appointments to city boards and commissions. The city council reappointed Carol McMahan to the Arts Advisory Commission, Kathy Bigby to the Library Board, and Nick Bautista to the Planning Commission. They also appointed Marla French to the Arts Advisory Commission and Cheryal Heppner to the Community Policing Advisory Board.
Volunteers who serve on boards and commissions inform and advise the council and get involved in the community to help organize events like National Night Out, Tour de Terrace, and Arts of the Terrace. Members find the experience fun and rewarding by meeting other residents with similar interests, learning about the city, and helping shape the future of Mountlake Terrace.
The city has five Boards and Commissions including the Arts Advisory Commission, Community Policing Advisory Board, Library Board, Planning Commission, and Recreation and Parks Commission. A council subcommittee conducted interviews on June 13 and recommendations were reviewed at council’s June 14 work session.
