Mountlake Terrace is celebrating its 15th annual National Night Out (NNO) event on Tuesday, August 2, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Evergreen Playfield, 22205 56th Avenue West. This free family event combines entertainment, food and community involvement for a fun-filled evening. It’s a great event for people to meet their neighbors and learn more about their community.
Kicking off the night at 6:00 p.m. will be a demonstration by Seattle TaeKwonDo followed by Hula O’Lehualani doing traditional hula dances at 6:30 p.m. Topping off the evening will be, “Bullet Creek,” Washington’s hottest Rockin’-Country band from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m.
“This fun, family-oriented event raises crime and drug prevention awareness, strengthens neighborhood spirit and provides an opportunity for neighbors and friends to gather and meet other neighbors, community leaders and local service providers,” explained event coordinator Erin Kelly.
Mountlake Terrace National Night Out is made possible through local sponsors and donations.
The National Association of Town Watch has recognized NNO as a National Award Winner for its outstanding participation the last two years. Over 1,000 people attended last year’s event.
The campaign involves citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials.
In partnership with Waste Management, the city will include a free electronics recycling event at this year‘s National Night Out event. Bring in any electronics.
