Two vehicles were heavily damaged in a three-car accident Monday evening at the intersection of 212th Street Southwest and 44th Avenue West in Mountlake Terrace. Snohomish County Fire District 1 crews responding to the incident reported only minor injuries to the vehicles’ drivers and passengers.

The intersection was the site of a traffic fatality less than three weeks ago when a vehicle involved in a police chase ran a red light and t-boned a van driven by Jerry Robert Bennett, 72 of Lynnwood. Bennett died from the injuries sustained in the collision; Shellie Rose Becker, 42 of Bothell, is being held in Snohomish County Jail on $255,000 bail for vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from the incident, in addition to a previous charge of theft.
