Last September I had the pleasure of being asked by the city of Mountlake Terrace – where I live – to shoot the third annual Evergreen Awards ceremony.

The Mountlake Terrace Evergreen Awards, partially funded by a grant from the Snohomish County-Camano Association of Realtors (SCCAR), recognize property owners and renters who take pride in their community by beautifying, renovating, and improving their homes, condominiums and businesses and adding features that promote sustainability.  It’s a celebration of community involvement and beautification. Awards go to selections made from public nominations, and go to properties and properties that are consistently well kept and tidy, have had the best transformation and exercise sustainability features that help protect and preserve the environment and reduce their carbon footprint such as solar heating, natural cooling, native landscaping.

Our Mayor Jerry Smith and Mayor Pro-Tem Laura Sonmore greeted the recipients and attendees, and Jeff Crandall led the awards presentation.

To see all the awards and the recipients, the city has put the PowerPoint presentation online in PDF format, which you can view here.  (Note:  it’s a big file and may take a bit to download)

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2012 awards later this year.
