The Mountlake Terrace Police Department is inviting the community to enjoy National Night Out from 6-9 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 5 at Evergreen Playfield, 22205 56th Ave. W.
This free family event combines entertainment, food and community involvement for a fun-filled evening. Citizens can meet their neighbors and learn more about their community. Mountlake Terrace is celebrating its 18th annual National Night Out event.
“The goal of National Night Out is to raise crime and drug prevention awareness, strengthen neighborhood spirit and provide an opportunity for neighbors and friends to gather and meet other neighbors, community leaders and local service providers,” said event coordinator Erin Kelly.
Mountlake Terrace’s National Night Out event is funded by donations from local businesses and sponsors. The event has been recognized by the National Association of Town Watch as a National Award Winner for its outstanding participation for several years. More than 1,000 people attended last year’s event.
The National Night Out campaign involves citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials.
