Man taken to Harborview following car-pedestrian crash on 236th Street Thursday morning

The intersection of 236th Street Southwest and 58th Avenue West in Mountlake Terrace was closed for several hours Thursday morning while police investigated a car-pedestrian accident that occurred at 8:13 a.m.

According to Mountlake Terrace Police spokesman Commander Doug Hansen, a 61-year-old Edmonds man was crossing 236th in the crosswalk at 58th Avenue West when he was hit by a BMW, driven by a 17-year-old Brier boy.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center with multiple broken bones.

Police don’t know yet whether the driver was distracted or impaired, Hansen said.
