An alleged burglar who was shot by a homeowner on Aug. 31 remains at Harborview four months later and will face burglary charges when he is released.
The homeowner who shot him, however, will likely not face charges.
“We do not anticipate charges to the homeowner unless the known facts change,” Mountlake Terrace Asst. Police Chief Pete Caw said.
The incident on Aug. 31 began when a homeowner called 911 around 12:25 a.m. to report he had shot a man dressed in black who entered his home in the 22100 block of 60th Avenue West. Officers found the man laying in the street in front of the residence. The subject was unresponsive and had a single gunshot wound to his upper torso, police said. Officers began CPR and were able to get a pulse before medics arrived. The subject was taken to Harborview Hospital in Seattle in critical condition.
