Man pleads not guilty in Terrace ‘drug deal gone bad’

Marcus Lee Banek, 28, pleaded not guilty on Monday, June 18, in Snohomish County Superior Court to two felony counts he faces from the drug deal gone bad last month in Mountlake Terrace. Banek is charged with unlawful firearm possession and theft.

Banek is on probation from prior convictions, making him ineligible to own or possess a gun. He is also accused of stealing a gun and more than $7,000 in cash. Both charges against Banek fall into the Class B felony range.

The next court appearance for Banek is on July 19 for an omnibus hearing; his trial is set to begin Aug. 10.
