Man with Cedar Park Christian School ties identified as Oso landslide victim

The long wait for friends and family of Ron deQuilettes ended this week as the body of the 52-year-old Bothell man was recovered and identified from the March 22 mudslide near Oso in northern Snohomish County.

CPC-MLT logoThe news of deQuilettes’ identification came just days after a fundraiser dinner was held at Cedar Park Christian School — Mountlake Terrace for the deQuilettes family. The school has raised more than $7,800 for LaRae deQuilette’s, Ron’s wife and their four children.

The deQuilettes family has a long history with CPCS-MLT as Ron attended there in the 1970’s when it was called Mountlake Christian School and all four deQuilette children attended there when it was Snohomish County Christian School.

Ron deQuilette was working as an electrician at a summer home in Oso on the morning of March 22. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s office listed deQuilette’s cause of death as multiple blunt force injuries.
