U.S. marshals arrested a British man at a Mountlake Terrace home Wednesday. He is wanted in the United Kingdom for attempted murder.

The man, Julio Martins-Paes, came to the attention of officials after he was arrested in December for driving under the influence.

Martins-Paes allegedly smashed into a Washington State Patrol trooper in Sea-Tac, said Jack Williams, a spokesman for the marshals.

In February 2006 Martins-Paes allegedly stabbed his wife and later fled to the United States.
