The Lynnwood Ice Center begins its fall session of skating classes this week with a newly rebranded instructional program that’s designed to empower aspiring skaters to achieve athletic and personal goals both on and off the ice.
The Lynnwood Learn to Skate Academy will feature a progressive curriculum offered by Learn to Skate USA, designed to offer support and guidance for those taking their first steps on the ice up to those who are working to master more advance techniques. It will also offer specialty programs for skaters who want to explore various ice skating disciplines including hockey, ice dance, pairs, speed skating, synchronized skating, therapeutic recreational skating and more.
Learn to Skate USA is an enhanced iteration of the Basic Skills Program, endorsed by U.S. Figure Skating and USA Hockey. The Basic Skills Program has been used by the Lynnwood Learn to Skate Academy since 1994 and has taught more than 2,000 local skaters the basics of the sport.
