Lost therapy dog near 224th/40th Wednesday night (UPDATE: FOUND!)

A dog was lost Wednesday evening near 240th St SW and 40th Ave W in Mountlake Terrace. Read the details below from an MLTnews reader. If you’ve seen the dog leave a comment here or email tips@MLTnews.com and we’ll put in you in contact with the owner.

My families loved Chocolate Lab rhodesian ridgeback got loose along with our other lab and Chihuahua. However they always seem to stay in a pack but we found the Chihuahua and Lab without Mo 🙁 Could you post something asking if anyone has seen a Chocolate Lab with a ridge on his back? (hence the name mo for “mo -hawk”) He’s a super friendly dog and normally comes when you call him. That’s why this is strange. We have gotten the other 2 dogs, we are only missing the chocolate lab. Thanks in advance. Here’s a picture of Mo. We live at 224th and 40th. He’s a registered therapy dog and extra gentle (in fact, any Cedar Way parents out there, your kids have probably seen him at school with me). He has a mohawk on his back (exactly where his hackles AREN’T) because he’s part rhodesian ridgeback. He’s about 65lbs and has never been gone this long (3+ hrs at this posting). Our other dogs were less than a block away – Mo hasn’t ever strayed off away from them. Thanks for your extra eyes. I’ll be putting up signs in the morning.

UPDATE 8/26 12pm: Mo has been found! Here’s a quote from the owner:

“Mo is home. He’s hungry and tags are missing. We’re not sure where they picked him up but we’re just glad he’s home and safe. Thanks to everyone that was looking and praying. We’re so grateful.”

And also a quote from an employee at the MLT PD:

“He was here at the PD this morning and we got to hang out with Mo briefly. Such a sweet dog!”

  1. Glad to hear this, PLEASE keep a closer eye on your dogs. MLT seems to have a lost dog every week or so…..
