A bridge near Brier located on Locust Way between 231st Street Southwest and Barker

Road will remain closed through mid-to-late November as construction work continues.

The bridge closed along with a larger stretch of Locust Way back in June. It was originally scheduled to re-open in mid-October, but production constraints of the steel pipe piling have caused a delay.

“Crews from McClure and Sons, Inc. have been working Saturdays to make up for the lost time, but unfortunately not enough time has been recovered,” Snohomish County officials wrote in a press release.

While the bridge is in unincorporated Snohomish County, the continued closure may affect Brier drivers heading south into Kenmore or Lake Forest Park.

Locust Way will remain closed between 231st Street Southwest and Barker Road to all vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians until the project is finished.
