Local church members will put on dancing shoes this week, next

Who says churches don’t know how to par-tee!

Members of Calvary Fellowship, 23302-56th Ave. W. in Mountlake Terrace, will be getting their groove on with not one, not two, but three dances over eight days starting this Saturday, Feb. 9, with an all-ages swing dance geared for young people.

So how does a church end up scheduling three dances in eight days? “Actually it’s a bit coincidental, though I suppose it could be more providential than I might be aware of,” said Craig Finley, a pastor at the church.

While there might still be some churches that frown upon the practice of dancing, not so at Calvary Fellowship. a non-denominational church founded in 1977. “I guess we’re just into dancing,” said Finley.

In addition to its Mountlake Terrace facility, the church conducts services and programs in Wallingford and on Capital Hill.
