Many local businesses will honor veterans this Friday, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day with giveaways and discounts:
Mr. Kleen 76 stations, located at 19611 Alderwood Mall Pkwy. and 19907 44th Ave. W., will be giving away free car washes (rain or shine) on Friday, Nov. 11.
A Whale of a Car Wash, located at 4628 168th St. S.W., will be giving away free car washes (rain or shine) on Friday, Nov. 11.
Ivar’s and Kidd Valley are offering veterans a complimentary meal of their choice during both lunch and dinner this Veterans Day. This includes the full-service Acres of Clams, Salmon House and Mukilteo Landing locations as well as fast food restaurants. Ivar’s Seafood Bars, such as the one located at 9910 Edmonds Way, will offer up Clams ‘n Chips, Baby Prawns and Chips, three-piece Fish ‘n Chips, Shrimp Caesar Salad, and a Clam Chowder Bread Bowl.
Great Clips, with locations in Lynnwood, Edmonds and Mountlake Terrace, will offer free hair cuts to veterans on Friday. Non-veterans who get their hair cut on Friday can also receive a voucher for a free hair cut to gift to veterans. Those vouchers for veterans are good for one haircut anytime until the end of the year. After Nov. 11, all veterans must have a voucher to receive their free haircut.
Sport Clips, with locations in Edmonds and Lynnwood, will also give free haircuts to veterans on Friday, Nov. 11. In addition, $1 from every haircut given to a non-veteran on Friday will be donated to the Help a Hero scholarship fund, which helps veterans and service members receive post-secondary education or attend trade schools. Meineke, located at 23900 Firdale Ave. in Edmonds, will give free basic oil changes to veterans on Friday, Nov. 11.
Applebees, located at 4626 196th St. S.W., will get a free meal on Friday, Nov. 11.
IHOP, located at 4300 196th St. S.W., will give veterans and active military members a free stack of red, white and blue cupcakes on Friday.
Red Robin, located at 18410 33rd Ave. W., will give veterans and active duty military members a free Red’s Tavern Double burger and bottomless fries on Nov. 11.
Olive Garden, located at 4221 196th St. S.W., will give veterans a free meal on Friday.
Red Lobster, located at 4231 196th St. S.W., will offer a free appetizer or dessert from a menu of options with a valid military ID on Nov. 10 and 11.
Walgreens, located in Edmonds and Lynnwood, will give 20 percent off to military members and veterans on Friday, with a Balance Rewards card and proof of service. Several products are excluded from this discount.
JCPenney, located at Alderwood Mall, will give veterans an additional 5 percent off in-store purchases from Nov. 10-13. It can be combined with other offers taking place that week too. A military or VA ID is required.
Jo Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, located at 5824 196th St. S.W. in Lynnwood, gives past and present military members plus their dependents an extra 10 percent off their total purchase every day of the year.

The Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour will offer all U.S. and Canadian military veterans, including retired and active duty military (in uniform or with military ID), free admission to the Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour on Friday. Boeing Tours will be offered on a space-available basis and cannot be reserved in advance. The Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour is open from 8:30 a.m.—5:30 p.m. Tours of the Boeing Assembly Plant last 90 minutes and run on the hour beginning at 9 a.m. with the last tour at 3 p.m. Children must be four feet tall to take the Boeing Tour. Point Defiance Zoo and its sister zoo Northwest Trek Wildlife Park will offer free admission on Nov. 11, 12 and 13 to all individuals who are currently serving or have honorably served in the U.S. military. Immediate family members will receive half-off general admission. To receive your discount, bring your active military/veteran identification card, discharge papers, DD214s or any other proof of honorable US military service with you to the zoo.
National parks, including the Olympic National Park and Rainier National Park, will offer free admission to everyone Friday. Free admission is in honor of veterans, but everyone can enjoy it.
