League of Women Voters seeking nominees for Democracy in Action Award

LWV-Logo-Open_standard_webThe League of Women Voters of Snohomish County is seeking nominations for its annual Democracy in Action Award. Eligible for nomination is any individual or group who has shown extraordinary achievement or demonstrated a long-term commitment to enhancing democracy in Snohomish County.

Examples for potential nomination could include an elected official on the local, state, or national level; anyone advancing issues of voters’ rights; anyone advocating within the League’s positions on natural resources, immigration, international relations, education, health care ; anyone encourging women for future citizenship development. Last year’s recipient was the Public Affairs Department of Radio Station KSER-FM.

The recognition award will be presented at a public function in early 2016.
