The Shorecrest girls basketball team used a dominating second quarter to defeat the Mountlake Terrace Hawks Tuesday night, 59-45, at Shorecrest High School. The Scots outscored Terrace 20-4 in the period.
The Hawks drop to 0-3 in the 3A Wesco South, 1-5 overall. Shorecrest picks up their first league win and now stand at 1-2, 2-5 overall.
Maddy Kristjanson led the Hawk attack with 12 points. Nikkie Froehlich scored 11, while Riley Zucker added 10.
Mountlake Terrace plays its last home game before winter break on Thursday when the team faces Glacier Peak at 7:15 p.m. at the Terracium.
