Kyle Richards (left), 13 of Brier and Francisco Rodriguez, 12 of Edmonds, were two of 33 middle school age students who had the opportunity to learn about firefighting at the Lynnwood Kids Fire Camp last week. Joining the two on the walk up an aerial ladder fire truck was Lynnwood Firefighter Aaron Williams. The three climbed up to the top of a three story training tower at the Mukilteo Training Center. Campers also extinguished a liquid fire with a fire extinguisher, fought a simulated house fire and competed in rope competitions Thursday at the Mukilteo Training Center. Other activities during the four-day camp included talks about CPR, water safety, life jackets, proper nutrition and even how to cook foods that are healthy.
