Snohomish County Fire District 1 Commissioners elected Jim Kenny to serve as board chair and Jim McGaughey to serve as vice chair for 2015.
Kenny, an attorney employed by the City of Seattle, has been a commissioner for more than 11 years and has served five one-year terms as chair of the board. During his tenure, Kenny has been actively involved in fire service regionalization efforts. He is a past president of the Sno-Isle Fire Commissioners and serves on the board of the Washington Fire Commissioners Association.
“I look forward to leading the board this year,” Kenny said. “We want to innovate and improve the service for Fire District 1.”
Vice Chair McGaughey took office as a commissioner in December 2013. He is a retired deputy fire chief with 27 years of fire service experience. He teaches a fire service technology class for high school students in the Edmonds School District.
