Keller, Gustafson Promoted at Fire District 1

Kevin Gustafson and Aaron Keller have been promoted to the rank of lieutenant in the volunteer program at Snohomish County Fire District 1.

Gustafson started as a volunteer with the Edmonds Fire Department in 1999 and joined Fire District 1 in 2009 as the two departments moved toward consolidation. The Mountlake Terrace resident has taken an active role in Fire District 1’s public education programs and community events. During the holidays, Gustafson worked on a food and gift drive to assist a local family. He has also served as an instructor at volunteer recruit academies.  A 1995 graduate of Edmonds-Woodway High School, Gustafson is enrolled in the Fire Officer Development Program at Edmonds Community College. He is employed by Frontier Communications.

Keller, a Mountlake Terrace resident, has been a volunteer with the Fire District 1 since 2007 and has served as an acting lieutenant for one year. He has been the public event volunteer coordinator for the past two years and was a member of the inspection team for Fire District 1’s new air and light truck. Keller is 1998 graduate of Shorecrest High School and earned his degree in physical education at Whitworth College in Spokane. He is employed by Tri-Med Ambulance.

Fire District 1 is the largest provider of fire and emergency medical services in Snohomish County, with full-time staffing at 12 fire stations. The department serves more than 200,000 residents in the unincorporated communities of Silver Firs, Eastmont, Mariner, Lake Serene, Picnic Point, Martha Lake, Mariner, Lake Stickney, Norma Beach, Hilltop, Hilton Lake, Pioneer Trails; the cities of Brier, Edmonds and Mountlake Terrace; and the town of Woodway.
